            KNOWING

                             PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

                            World Health Organization (WHO) defines
physical activity as any bodily movement
produced by skeletal muscles that requires
                            energy expenditure - including activities
                            undertaken while working, playing,
                            carrying out household chores, travelling,
                            and engaging in recreational pursuits.
The term physical activity should not
                            be confused with exercise. Exercise
is a subcategory of physical activity,
undertaken with a specific objective such
as the improvement of fitness, health or
                            physical performance. Exercise is more
                            structured, and with repetitive movements,
which improves or maintains one or
                            more components of physical fitness
                            (e.g. cardiovascular endurance, muscular
                            strength, balance, flexibility).
