General Advice for Relaxation

  • Choose the best technique that suits you.
  • Learn and practice that technique often.
  • Do not get up suddenly after a relaxation practice. Spend a minute or two enjoying the relaxed sensation.
  • Get up slowly when you are ready.
  • It is not possible to learn relaxation in one session. Practice more to become proficient and more relaxed.
  • Identify stressors or anxiety producing situations. Avoid them.
  • Make choices and develop your coping skills.

Bladder

Older people may be less able to delay urination after they first sense a need to urinate. The bladder muscles may contract sporadically, apart from any need to urinate. The bladder muscles weaken. As a result, more urine is left in the bladder after urination is finished.

Eyes

The eyes undergo many changes with aging. Between the ages of 40 and 50, most people notice that seeing close objects becomes difficult.
