- It is given as an injection in two doses with 6 to 8 month apart.

Who should get Hepatitis A vaccine?
Is recommended for persons 1 years of age and older
- Travelers to areas with high rates of Hepatitis A infections (Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe).
- Children living in areas with high rates of Hepatitis A
- Sewage workers
- Intravenous drug users
- Food caterers or handlers especially restaurants, stalls, canteen owners and workers to reduce risks of infection
- Persons with chronic liver disease
- Persons with clotting factor disorder
- Men who have sex with men
