SELAMAT DATANG KE PORTAL RASMI
MYHEALTH KEMENTERIAN KESIHATAN MALAYSIA

Introduction

Fitness is a state of well-being that allows people to perform daily activities with vigor, participate in a variety of physical activities and reduce the risk of health problems. It has the following components:-

  • Strength – to cope with effort.
  • Stamina – the ability to keep going.
  • Suppleness – the ability to move and bend smoothly.
  • Coordination – the ability to integrate different movements and balance.

Getting and staying fit requires continued effort and one must develop the habit of taking regular exercise. Regular exercise and physical activity can help to overcome a particular disability, increase the capacity to function and provide pleasure. This is achieved when performed with sufficient frequency, intensity and duration.

Lung

As people age, the muscles used in breathing such as the diaphragm, tend to weaken by up to 25% with aging. Also, slightly less oxygen is absorbed from air that is breathed in.

Ears

As people age, they may hear less well and balance may become difficult to maintain. These changes occur because some structures in the ear that help with hearing or balance deteriorate with age
