New Straits Times Wednesday, 22/06/2011 Perak: Dengue cases down by 37pc IPOH: A total of 585 dengue cases were reported in Perak for the first six months of the year. State Health, Local Government, Consumer Affairs, Environment, Public Transport and Non-Islamic Affairs committee chairman Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon said the figure showed a reduction of 37 per cent compared to 928 cases for the same period last year. The success was a result of continued effort and commitment by all parties to eradicate the epidemic especially since national figures had increased last year, he told reporters here today. There were only two fatalities while it was four last year for the same period, he said. Hulu Perak had the highest number of cases. – Bernama
